Invar 42 is a nickel-iron alloy consisting of approximately 42% nickel and 58% iron, with trace elements such as carbon (up to 0.05%), manganese (up to 0.80%), and silicon (up to 0.30%). It is specifically designed for low thermal expansion and excellent dimensional stability. This alloy exhibits a tensile strength of around 490-620 MPa and a yield strength of 240-360 MPa, making it ideal for precision applications. Its high strength and reliable performance in varying temperatures make it suitable for use in electronic components, aerospace parts, and industrial tooling requiring stability and accuracy under thermal stress.
